Via a tweet by Beth Kanter I discovered a new booklet produced by the Tactical Technology Collective: Visualizing Information for Advocacy: An Introduction to Information Design
In their words:
Visualizing Information for Advocacy: An Introduction to Information Design is a manual aimed at helping NGOs and advocates strengthen their campaigns and projects through communicating vital information with greater impact. This project aims to raise awareness, introduce concepts, and promote good practice in information design – a powerful tool for advocacy, outreach, research, organization and education.
It’s a wonderful resource, and itself beautifully designed – bonus points for the references to Open Source tools information designers can use at the end. It really shows the value of investing in true information design – though I worry that simply having this booklet won’t make many NGOs better at producing such beauty.
