Last week we toured the Gropius House in Lincoln, MA – where Walter Gropius, his wife Ise, and daughter Ati lived from 1938 until Ise’s death in 1983.
It’s not your typical Historic New England (formerly Society for the Preservation of New England Antiquities) type house-museum, as most of their properties are much older and in traditional New England styles – but it is really intriguing to see how the founder of the Bauhaus lived in suburban Boston, not far from Walden Pond.
