Mike Bloomfield, John Paul Hammond, Dr. John; Triumvirate; 1973 on Columbia.

My copy is a UK pressing but it was out in the US at the same time. Great funky blues bayou combo – kind of an alternate universe supergroup in the model of Cream or Blind Faith.

At their best on a standard like “It hurts me too” and on Dr. John tunes like “I Yi Yi” and “Sho Bout To Drive Me Wild” ( even “Cha Dooky Doo” which Dr. John didn’t write – but has that New Orleans connection). They get a bit stuck in the mud (for my taste) on John Lee Hooker’s “Ground Hog Blues.”

One of my favorite finds – an album I didn’t know existed before I saw it in a bin.
