The Blues Brothers’ second album, released the same year the film came out (1980). Lots of folks are surprised (I was) that the Blues Brothers pre-existed the film – they performed on Saturday Night Live in April 1978 and put out Briefcase Full of Blues that same year.

The band on this release includes, in addition to Elwood Blues (Dan Akryod) and Jake Joliet Blues (John Belushi): Donald “Duck” Dunn (bass), Steve Jordan (drums), Paul Shaffer (organ), Murphy Dunne (Werlitzer), Matt “Guitar” Murphy & Steve Cropper (guitars), Lou Marini, Tom Scott, Tom Malone (saxes), and Alan Rubin (trumpet). The album was produced by Paul Shaffer and Bob Tischler, and recorded live at the Universal Ampitheatre.

My copy—via Vinyl Destination in Lowell MA—is an original 1980 Specialty Records pressing.
