This album was recorded in 2001 and was supposed to be released in 2002, but was shelved by Arista until 2009 (as Kamaal the Abstract – no / between them) with a different cover. Self-produced.

Fantastic album that would have done quite well in 2002 (it did achieve gold record status in 2009) and one of my favorite reissues by Vinyl Me, Please, from the relatively short-lived VMP Hip-Hop track.

My copy—via the new Vinyl Me Please—is the 2023 club edition on yellow, white, and black vinyl, which replicates the original planned cover from 2001/2002. (Discogs has records for 2001 issues – though it is not clear if those were actually pressed – it was not ever formally released).
