Donny Hathaway, Everything is Everything, 1970 on ATCO

My copy is the @vinylmeplease classics reissue from 2020, pressed at from lacquers cut at @sterlingsound

I only wish Hathaway had lived to make dozens more albums. This was his first release though he worked at Curtom records and did session recordings

“Tryin’ Times” and a great version of “To Be Young, Gifted, and Black” are highlights – “Voices Inside (Everything is Everything)” feels like it could have been on The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.
