Nickel Creek, self-titled, 2000 on Sugar Hill Records

When I first started hearing about Nickel Creek I thought they were somehow related to Nickelback. I should have paid more attention, as it means I’m coming late to how great they were (and are!). I’m actually finding them via Sara Watkins’ work with I’m With Her and working my way back.

Chris Thile, Sara Watkins, and Sean Watkins have made a remarkable set of albums together – this is their third, but the first on Sugar Hill with production from Alison Krauss

My copy is the 2xLP (45rpm) reissue by Craft Recordings which is a beautiful pressing (as I’ve come to expect from them).
