This is a beautifully recorded tribute album to Duke Ellington bassist Jimmy Blanton (who died in 1942) with Ray Brown from the Oscar Peterson Trio.

Recorded in 1972 but first relased in 75 on Pablo, the label Norman Granz created in 1973.
