This was required listening and a mandatory part of any healthy CD collecting heading into college in the 80s. It didn’t matter what musical subculture you came from, this was the lingua franca.

I went on to many other Marley albums and deeper knowledge of Reggae and Caribbean music, but this was the one everyone knew.

My copy is a later reissue, actually a 180 gram repress of the version that came out in 2009 as part of the 2009 Island 50th Anniversary Special Edition – likely pressed some time in 2019 or 2020 – I was happy to find it at Academy Records in NYC.
