Holland and Parton were the original core of the Be Good Tanyas, later joined by Trish Klein and Frazey Ford. I was (and still am) a massive fan of the Be Good Tanyas, often letting their albums Blue Horse and Chinatown run all day while working.

Here they reunite on an album via Cinquefoil Records, which Holland formed to put on her solo records. (They have a facebook page but the site that used to be at jolieandsamantha.com does not seem to exist any more).

There’s a great cover Townes Van Zandt’s “You Are Not Needed Now” and Dylan’s “Minstrel Boy” as well as a buch of new originals.
