Bob Dylan, Highway 61 Revisited, 1965 on Columbia

Cover: Highway 61 Revisted

Dylan’s sixth studio album, following the infamous Dylan-goes-electric Newport Folk Festival and following Bringing It All Back Home.

A masterpiece from start to finish, including “Like a Rolling Stone,” “Ballad of a Thin Man,” “Just Like Tom Thumb’s Blues,” and “Desolation Row.” Dylan just turned 85 recently—his birthday is just 2 days (and many years) before mine.

The band here is Michael Bloomfield, Alan Kooper, Paul Griffin, Bobby Gregg, Harvey Goldstein, Charley McCoy, Frank Owners, and Russ Savakus.

My copy—via Big Fun Records in Beverly MA—is a mid-seventies reissue with the KCS 9189 catalog number and the red label with gold Columbia around introduced in the early 70s. Unfortunately no custom inner liner (though I’m not sure it ever had one).
