This album features re-recordings of U2’s own songs, re-interpreted from their 2023 vantage point. It was something of an accompanying record to Bono’s memoir (Surrender: 40 Songs, One Story) and the AppleTV documentary Bono: Stories of Surrender.

The vinyl editions (2 x LP) only have 16 songs, where some of the other editions had more (40 songs on the 4 CD version) but I wanted to have it on vinyl. They updated lyrics of some songs (notably “Pride” and “Walk On”) and the interpretations are not overly tied to the originals, but they are very recognizable.

My copy—via The Record Exchange in Salem MA—is the blue translucent 180g vinyl pressing by Optimal GmbH. (Sticker marks it as a Target exclusive but I think other retailers had it, certainly outside the US).
