This one was great fun to find. Originally released in 1976, this is an album that gets sampled frequently, perhaps most famously (in my collection at least) by A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Fugees, and M.I.A.

It’s kind of swing / big-band / latin jazz influenced early disco, which led to more interesting rhythms. Two of the members (Thomas Bowder and Andy Hernandez) left in the later 70s to form Kid Creole and the Coconuts.

My copy—via private sale—is an RCA Indianapolis pressing of a later reissue (not sure of the year) on black RCA Victor labels .
