Paul Butterfield and band (sometimes labelled as The Paul Butterfield Blues Band, here just last name) live at the Troubador in Los Angeles, produced by Todd Rundgren, engineered by Rundgren and Ray Thompson. Great live blues album – Chicago Blues with a horn section and more jazz foundations mixed in.
The lineup here does not include original guitarist Elvin Bishop or Mike Bloomfield but Ralph Walsh, Rod Hicks, Ted Harris, and George Davidson, along with a horn section including Gene Dinwiddie, Trevor Lawrence, and Steve Madaio. Not sure why David Sanborn is not credited on this release even though he is in the photos in the gatefold and was with the band during this era.
My copy is a later pressing (likely 1976 or 1977 based on lacquer cutting signature in the runout), via Bull Moose records in Portsmouth NH
