Nelson on sax and clarient, with Dolphy also on sax, bass clarinet, and flute, supported by Richard Wyands on piano, George Duvivier on bass, and Roy Haynes on drums. Recording supervised by Rudy Van Gelder. Nelson had earlier recorded Screamin’ The Blues with Dolphy and Richard Williams.

It is safe to say that if you listen to this album for twenty times longer than it took to record, it will have fresh and important things to say to you

New Jazz became a sub-label of Prestige in 1958. My copy is the Vinyl Me Please, Classics reissue from 2024, manufactured by Craft Recordings, which (as always with Craft) is an excellent sounding record and a nice package, including listening notes booklet by Dean Van Nguyen.
